EVENT: “Living with obesity” – patients and experts in dialogue
Open talk event about obesity in Germany to mark World Obesity Day in Europe.
Invited speakers from the obesity patient community to tell their journey and healthcare professionals to discuss day-to-day reality in the country and what could be improved for future better care.
Lectures and discussions on these hot topics:
- Diets vs. change of diet – What does good nutritional advice look like?
- Appropriate exercise programs for people living with obesity. What offers are there?
- Reimbursement by the health insurance companies – what is paid for – where are the gaps?

EVENT: “Twitch Live Streaming: Obesity support instead of Stigma”
German organization Adipositas Verband Deutschland will be streaming a 5-hour interactive live show on Twitch. The headline for this initiative will be “Support instead of Stigma”. Torsten Nixdorf and Christel Moll will host many talks with patients, caregivers and relatives, healthcare professionals, researchers, and obesity experts. Also, they will connect live with many patient support groups across Germany with awareness events taking place.
Everyone can participate on the show and tell their story via Twitch call-in.
